      As of May 1, the Selectboard has decided to reopen the Town of Office starting on Monday May 4th for regular hours. It will be limited to 1 customer at a time due to social distancing practices.   Vehicle reregistrations and other services continue to be available on this site.       LITCHFIELD KENNEBEC COUNTY MAINE ME Handwritten Book/Diary of Town History Maine, and dates from Litchfield is located sixteen miles southwest of Augusta in southern Kennebec County. Early settlement of the town began before the Revolutionary War and occurred around the ponds, lakes, and streams, many of which are mentioned.
